Part 1: Revision Questions

Sometimes, CIMA students condense their revision so that they go straight from learning subject material to taking mock exams, without any testing in between. This inevitably leads to bad performance in the mocks which can mean a poorer performance in the real exams. Don't make this mistake!

There are many dynamic and interesting ways you can test yourself as you revise - read on to find out how you can make your revision questions fun!
Over the years I've spoken to many students who feel they missed out because they didn't test themselves enough. Now mock exams are extremely useful as part of your CIMA revision process and I will discuss how you can get the most out of your CIMA mock exams in Part 2 of this blog. First, however, I want to share some quick tips on how to use revision questions as an interesting and engaging part of your studying.

1) Involve a friend
Having somebody else testing your performance is a great motivator and can actually aid your learning - if a peer is testing you, studies have shown you will subconsciously feel more pressured to provide correct answers. If you can, try to have conversations with your friend about the CIMA content you are learning - explaining something is a great way to see if you really understand it.

2) Make flash cards
Bright colors and visually-pleasing study materials are a great way to help you take an interest in the CIMA material and absorb the information better. You could consider sticking questions up around your house where you will see them daily, and answering them as you walk by!

3) Use social media
Social media is a guilty pleasure for many of us, so why not use it as a revision tool? Astranti are currently posting revision questions to Facebook every week for each CIMA subject - check out their management pages here - P2, E2, F2.

Astranti's Exam Practice Kits are specifically designed to help you revise the knowledge you've gained from studying the syllabus material, ahead of your mock exams. They are the perfect revision accompaniment to Astranti's free online study texts. I would really suggest you check these out if you want to guarantee you are absorbing all the syllabus content.

I hope these tips can help you get the most out of your revision! Check out Part 2 of this blog in which I explain how to make the most out of your mock exams! Also, don't forget to follow Astranti on Twitter and like us on Facebook. Until next time, happy studying!
